Anti-Bullying - Odd Socks Day

Today,  Carterhatch celebrated Anti-Bullying week again with pupils and staff wearing odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique.

We launched the day with an assembly where we discussed the theme of ‘One Kind Word’ and how we can spread this around the school. Following from this, pupils had PSHE lessons using resources from the Anti-Bullying Alliance and Pyjama Drama who want to prevent bullying and celebrate differences.

Within these lessons, pupils were reminded of the definition of bullying, who to go to for help, how to prevent bullying and how to spread kindness and positivity within our school.

As we know, one kind word leads to another. Kindness fuels kindness.

Pupils were reminded of the definition of bullying using the 4P’s:

Powerful, Painful, Persistent and Planned.
