17 January 2022 - Self-isolation for those with COVID-19 can end after 5 full days following 2 negative LFD tests
From Monday 17 January, people with COVID-19 in England can end their self-isolation after 5 full days, as long as they test negative on day 5 and day 6. The first test should be taken no earlier than day 5 of the self-isolation period.
Tests should also be reported online through the report a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test result page which should only take a couple of minutes. Please inform us of the two negative tests before your child returns to school.
11 January 2022 - Temporary suspension of confirmatory PCR tests in education and childcare settings
Confirmatory PCR testing following a positive result on a lateral flow device (LFD) will be temporarily suspended from Tuesday 11 January. This means pupils who have tested (either at home or through ATS) and reported a positive LFD result will no longer be advised to get a confirmatory PCR test.
